It provides concrete examples, interesting applications, and practical instruction on using communication skills in the world of work. In addition to the text students are provided with handouts that introduce various activities and skills in support of the text and to help students demonstrate the competencies for this class.

This class focuses upon developing speaking, nonverbal, communication, and listening skills through individual speeches, group activities, and other projects.
